Tata Teleservices (TTSL) today announced its plan to be the first to launch JuiceCaster 6.0, the award-winning mobile social-networking service, in India. JuiceCaster 6.0 (more) will be available to all Tata Teleservices subscribers as a downloadable application for BREW and Windows Mobile handsets.

Announcing the launch of the service, Mr Pankaj Sethi, president, Value Added Services, Tata Teleservices Ltd, said: “Social-networking services have a vibrant uptake among youth audiences in India. Through the Tata Indicom Mobile Handsets, our customers will now be able to remain updated and connected with their networked friends all through the day. Mobile devices provide a great opportunity for Mobile 2.0 and social networking to find mass appeal, and not be constrained by PC ownership. We are glad to partner with Juice Caster 6.0 to provide this appealing service to India’s youth.”

“It’s a privilege to launch JC with Tata Teleservices, India’s fastest-growing telecom service provider,” said Nick Desai, CEO of Juice Wireless, Inc. “It will be exciting to see our application utilized in a tech-savvy market where the mobile phone is the primary communications device for millions of people. We have many exciting plans for India – a market near to my heart and core to our company.”

JuiceCaster integrates user-created videos, meeting new people and staying in touch with friends and family into one easy-to-use application. JuiceCaster allows anyone with a camera-enabled mobile phone to post videos and pictures to Orkut, MySpace, Facebook and other popular websites. Users can also share unlimited mobile media with friends, family, colleagues and custom groups.

JuiceCaster 6.0 has brand-new features including:

* Groups Feature – lets users share media in one click with phone contacts, JuiceCaster friends, email addresses and contacts imported from Google, Yahoo, MSN and MS Outlook.
* Real-time Status Updates – enables individuals to capture and instantly post their current status – what they are doing right now, as real-time videos and pictures. Status alerts go to friends’ cell phones and instantly to popular social networking sites such as Facebook and Twitter.

India’s mobile market has over 250 million subscribers. The explosive growth of mobile data services combined with the rich heritage of valuing social interaction makes India an ideal market for JuiceCaster.
